About the event

Over the past three years, Green Day Construction has started and completed over 30 all masonry 3 story, 3 unit apartment and condominium buildings  throughout Bronzeville, Washington Park, & Woodlawn.  They will share the do’s and don'ts from land acquisitions, building design, navigating the permitting and building process, joys of inspections, and what key elements they've learned along the way.  While these projects can be challenging, in the end you are left with a relatively maintenance free, energy efficient, cash flowing building producing a lifetime of returns.

About the Speaker

Scott has been a licensed real broker, builder, and developer since 1992. He has sold and developed over 1,200 properties in excess of 225M in residential real estate throughout his 31 year real estate career.  He has a B.S. Business Degree from Eastern Illinois University, is a licensed HVAC Contactor, and is a Fire, Smoke, Water, & Mold damage certified technician.

He is a disabled U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of the U.S. Boxing Team.  His construction company is a certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business,(SDVOSB) focused on residential, commercial, and government contracting work.  Green Day Construction is a licensed general contractor and approved developer for the city of Chicago’s Troubled Buildings Initiatives.

After remodeling an orphanage and building a school in Port-au- Prince, Haiti after a devastating earthquake in 2010, he felt compelled to be a part of the rebuilding of the southside after it was hit so hard after the 2008 real estate crash.

Scott and his partners began purchasing, renovating, and leasing buildings throughout the southside.  Unable to locate a good property management company, they built one from the ground up and now 13 years later, have one of the city's best organizations, servicing investors and tenants alike.
